Women Religious Advisory Council

Sister Roberta Fulton, SSMN; Sister Nancy Hendershot, CSA; Sister Margie Hosch, OSF; and Sister Susan Pugh, DC, serve on the Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina recently formed Women Religious Advisory Council. The Women Religious Advisory Council was created to provide input and advice to the Foundation in support of its Collaboration for Ministry Initiative. The Advisory Council members will serve as a resource to the Foundation around ministry needs and challenges facing Sisters in South Carolina. In addition, committee members will provide input in identifying and planning opportunities for dialogue, support, networking, convening and collaboration among Sisters ministering throughout the state.  

Sister Roberta Fulton is a member of the Sisters of St. Mary of Namur, Buffalo, New York. She is a South Carolina native, born in Kingstree. She is currently the principal at St. Martin de Porres Catholic School which is an African American school in the historic Waverly Community in Columbia.

 

Sister Nancy Hendershot is a member of the Sisters of Charity of St. Augustine of Richfield, Ohio. She serves as Sister representative of the Sisters of Charity of St. Augustine. In this position, she acts as carrier of the presence of the Sisters of Charity of St. Augustine and vision of charism and spirit for sponsored ministries.

Sister Margie Hosch is a member of the Sisters of St. Francis of Dubuque, Iowa. She manages Wholeness Holiness Retreat in Greenville, S.C., and organizes retreats and seminars, conducts counseling and aids in spiritual direction specifically for women. She is originally from Cascade, Iowa, and moved to South Carolina in 1991.

 

Sister Susan Pugh is a member of the Daughters of Charity of Emmitsburg, Maryland. She is currently serving at St. Cyprian Catholic Church and Outreach Center in Georgetown, S.C. The center is located in a deprived area where there are 50 families using English as their first language and 305 families whose first language is Spanish.
