Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina

"In omnibus caritas” means In all things charity.  Since its inception in 1851, the congregation of the Sisters of Charity of St. Augustine has sought to put into practice these simple but all-encompassing words.  As a ministry of the Sisters, the Foundation offers Caritas Grant funds to be awarded to non-profit and faith-based organizations meeting the immediate needs of the poor in South Carolina.

Caritas Grants provide support to organizations dealing with situational poverty or crisis poverty. The demand for food, clothing, shelter and free health programs as well as other immediate needs continue to increase for organizations providing these services. Caritas Grant awards will be up to $5,000 for a one-year period and are designed for organizations with annual budgets of less than $600,000.

Potential applicants should review the mission and focus of the Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina. If there is an appropriate match, applicants should complete a Caritas Grant application by the designated deadline.

Caritas grant will be awarded twice a year.  The application deadlines are April 3 and October 2, 2012.

Online applications are due by 11:59 p.m. on the application deadline date, mailed applications must be post marked by the application deadline date and hand-delivered applications must reach the Foundation office by 5 p.m. on the application deadline date.
