What sort of programs does the Foundation fund?

Does the Foundation provide one-on-one help with completed applications?

Because of the large number of applications received, Foundation staff cannot provide extensive one-on-one help with completing the entire application.  However, they will gladly answer general questions and provide as much information as possible.

Not at the present time.

Not at the present time.

If an organization has a grant, how many times can it apply for renewal?

Once funded, organizations can apply for renewal of their Caritas Fund grants for a second year, especially to complete projects begun but not completed.  By the third year, organizations are encouraged to have an alternative funding mechanism in place.  However, they may still be considered for continued funding by the Foundation.  For all other grants, the Foundation will decide on eligibility for renewal on an individual basis.

We recently submitted an application and were declined?  May we re-submit?

Yes.

My grant was turned down.  Can you tell me why?

The need for financial support for the poor in South Carolina is great.  Competition for grant funds is intense and there are a number of factors that determine if a request is denied.  Most frequently it is because we are unable to fund every request that we receive.  We encourage those whose requests are declined to come back to us at a future time with another proposal.
