  • Collaboration for Ministry Initiative

    Historically, Sister-affiliated ministries have a strong and successful record in reducing poverty in South Carolina. Today, there is an accelerating loss of Sisters’ ministries in South Carolina, and the few active Sisters remaining are scattered throughout the state and they, along with their ministries, are frequently alone in their efforts to address poverty.     Foundations on the Hill, co-sponsored Council on Foundations and the Forum of Regional Associations of Grantmakers, is an annual opportunity for grantmakers to meet with their federal lawmakers in Washington, D.C. The purpose of Foundations on the Hill is to inform and educate Congress about philanthropy, create visibility for foundations and philanthropy on Capitol Hill, advocate on issues affecting foundations and encourage Congress to view foundations as resources on key public policy issues.View 2 Galleries
