Foundation Awards $70,390 in Caritas Fund Grants

The Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina has awarded 27 Caritas Fund grants totaling $70,390 to non-profit and faith-based organizations across South Carolina.

“In omnibus caritas” meaning “in all things charity” are simple all-encompassing words that the Foundation seeks to practice though the Caritas Fund. As a ministry of the Sisters of Charity Health System, the Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina makes Caritas Fund grants to worthy endeavors of non-profit and faith-based organizations reaching out to meet the immediate needs of the poor.

Caritas Fund grants are for organizations providing outreach services to the poor and marginalized. Designed for organizations with annual budgets of less than $250,000, these one-year grant awards do not exceed $3,000.

“In light of difficult economic times, we hope these grants will make a small impact and benefit the grant recipients in meeting the immediate needs of the poor,” said Kevin Hall, board president of the Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina.
