Obama Speaks on Fatherhood
Several of the Foundation staff, Foundation Board members and The South Carolina Center for Fathers and Families Board members, staff and program participants traveled to Spartanburg on June 15 to hear Senator Barack Obama speak at the Mount Moriah Baptist Church Family Life Center. Senator Obama is very active in the Fatherhood movement across the United States and -as a tie-in with Father's Day-shared some of his plans with the audience, even mentioning The South Carolina Center for Fathers and Families several times.

Foundation Representatives Meet with Congressional Leaders in Washington
Tom Keith, executive director of the Foundation; Patricia Littlejohn, interim executive director of The South Carolina Center for Fathers and Families; Wallace Evans, program director of A Father's Place in Conway, S.C. and Robin Bachman, director of public policy for the Sisters of Charity of St. Augustine Health System traveled to Washington, D.C. on July 25 to meet with Congressional Leaders. These face-to-face meetings enable the Foundation to build stronger relationships with our Congressional delegation from South Carolina.
