South Carolina Center For Fathers and Families
The Foundation was willing to stick with fatherhood over a prolonged period to make a difference. But its tenure should not, could not, be forever. Thus, in 2002 with a public/private partnership with DSS, the South Carolina Center for Fathers and Families emerged to assure support for fathers and families through resource development for fatherhood programs and policy research. Today, that Center aggressively seeks traditional and innovative strategies to sustain and expand the Initiative. The Center will continue to pursue policy research that supports advocacy-compelling policy reform to eliminate barriers for fathers and families.

Institute for Families in Society
The Institute for Families in Society seeks to enhance family well-being across the lifespan through interdisciplinary research, education, and consultation at community, state, national, and international levels.  The Institute is a partnership between the University of South Carolina and the broader community and collaborates with representatives from public and private agencies.

Welfare Information Network
The Welfare Information Network is a clearinghouse for information, policy analysis and technical assistance on welfare reform. Its page on Fatherhood and Family Formation offers an extensive listing of additional resources with links to valuable sources of information and further assistance.

National Center on Fathers and Families
Affiliated with the Philadelphia Children's Network, the Center works with a cohort of young African-American fathers between 18-30 who meet bimonthly for peer support, individual counseling and case management for issues on fatherhood. The Center also functions as a research database and resource for issues of fatherhood and families.

Center on Fathers, Families and Public Policy
This nationally-focused public policy organization conducts policy research, technical assistance, training and public education to focus attention on the barriers faced by never-married, low-income fathers and their families. The Center is the policy arm of the Ford Foundation's national Strengthening Fragile Families Initiative. The Center provides information and education about the impact of social welfare and child support policy on poor fathers, the children, and the mothers of their children.

The Urban Institute Research by Elaine Sorensen
The Institute's goals are to sharpen thinking about society's problems and efforts to solve them, improve government decisions and their implementation, and increase citizens' awareness about important public choices. This page, compiled by Elaine Sorensen, provides a wealth of information relating to fatherhood, child support, family development and other topics.

The National Fatherhood Initiative
The mission of the National Fatherhood Initiative is to improve the well-being of children by increasing the number of children growing up with loving, committed and responsible fathers. A non-profit, non-sectarian, non-partisan organization, NFI conducts public awareness campaigns promoting responsible fatherhood, organizes conferences and community fatherhood forums, provides resource material to organizations seeking to establish support programs for fathers, publishes a quarterly newsletter, and disseminates informational material to men seeking to become more effective fathers.

National Center for Fathering
Founded in 1990 by Dr. Ken Canfield, the Center conducts research on fathers and fathering, and develops practical resources to prepare dads for nearly every fathering situation. The Center has developed a variety of useful, "how to" resources, all based on sound research data. With these resources, and the help of other men, men can discover, develop and enhance their fathering...and become the dads their children desperately need.
