Public Policy and Advocacy

 July

31

The Foundation seeks to be an advocate for the poor. To fulfill its mission and serve the state and those in need, the Foundation seeks to be engaged in the public policy process. Educating the community and public policy makers about the work of the Foundation and its grantees enables the Foundation to achieve its mission. In this manner, the Foundation works to be a resource for policy makers on issues affecting the poor and engage the public policy arena by:

• staying well-informed about key state and federal policy issues and how they impact the poor and marginalized;

• building ongoing relationships with state and federal policy makers

• acting as a convener and conduit; and

• representing the interests of the underserved in South Carolina to elected officials.
