At times, the Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina may recognize and take a greater commitment in an area that effects the underserved in South Carolina.
The Foundation currently assumes two initiatives: the Fatherhood Initiative and the Collaboration for Ministry Initiative.
The Fatherhood Initiative, Reducing Poverty Through Father Engagement, is designed to reduce poverty by re-engaging absent fathers in the lives of their children.
The Collaboration for Ministry Initiative, a collaboration with the Sisters of Charity Foundation of Cleveland, supports congregations of women religious in their efforts with the poor and underserved members of society.
Past initiatives include the After School Initiative, designed to offer structured activities that develop children mentally, physically and emotionally. By targeting rural, community based programs, the Foundation aimed to reach underserved children and families in South Carolina.
