Many organizations work daily toward improving the lives of men, women and children who face poverty either as a reality that seems hopeless or a threat that is looming and real. The Sisters of Charity Foundation is committed to strengthening and supporting organizations in their grassroots efforts to confront and overcome poverty.
The grants awarded must be consistent with the mission and values of the Foundation. Simply put, grants must meet the needs of the poor - either directly or indirectly - and build upon strengths and abilities of individuals within the context of the family and a healthy community. While grants are awarded to organizations with very specific purposes in mind, the Foundation seeks programs which complement one another and work together collaboratively.
The Foundation anticipates that more requests will be received that can be funded; therefore, proposals will be selected through a competitive process. To assist as many worthy organizations as possible, the Foundation will award only one grant to an organization per year and discourages repeat funding.
