ELIGIBILITY

Foundation grants are accessible to all regardless of race, status or religion and to all organizations, large and small.  The Foundation encourages all potential organizations and groups, especially those in poor communities to consider applying.  Although each category of grant has its own guidelines, eligible applicants must meet the following basic requirements:

  1. The programs and services to be provided must be consistent with the Foundation's mission and values.

  2. The applying organization must be tax-exempt, non-profit entity.

  3. The organization receiving the grant must be geographically located in South Carolina with preference given to Sisters of Charity Providence Hospitals' service area.

  4. Organizations must close out active grants prior to being eligible to reapply.

LIMITATIONS

The Foundation normally does not fund the following unless the project demonstrates the potential to make a truly significant impact:

  1. Organizations with national parent affiliations.

  2. Annual appeals or membership drives.

  3. Capital constructions, including the construction of single-family dwellings.

  4. Endowment funds.

  5. Operating expenses of established organizations or debt retirement.

  6. Grants to individuals.

  7. Scholarships.
